Now that the guys from Blackbox have finally managed to release a version of the addon which kinda solves the most immediate problems I can safely pull from this post the fixes I offered as intermediate solutions and instead just link to the videos which tell the entire story – from the first release to the updates in between, including my own suggestions for improvements until the most recent update which is not too far away from a production ready piece of software.
From my point of view the Blackbox guys seriously need some additional quality assurance. Since I’m a sucker for realism, I’d appreciate them to get down and dirty, cooperate with Britten Norman and real world pilots to make sure the flight model and systems are as close to reality as possbile. Currently I have strong doubts and that’s why I’ll leave this plane in the hangar for now, unless there’s proof the Blackbox guys have put in some more real effort towards realism. Like number crunching and research.
